Welcome to UTS research
The UTS Research Strategy?provides an ambitious framework to support the university’s growing national and international reputation as a leading university of technology.
We are already Australia’s number one young university, but our sights are set even higher. Our overall strategic goal is to increase the intensity, excellence, impact and reputation of our research.
UTS research performance continues to go from strength to strength as a direct consequence of our existing strategy and research investment.
In our third decade we have much to be proud of: the excellence of our research and the positive impact we are making on the world; the quality of our graduates; and our close links with industry.
Our youth and agility mean we have become known as a university with vibrant research culture that produces high-quality, impact-driven research underpinned by technology and creativity.
As we continue to gain ground in intensity, impact and reputation, we have recognised the need to focus our research on concentrations. We have the flexibility to explore and support emerging areas of research interest, but we will continue to grow and leverage those areas where we are already recognised as having centres and researchers of national and international renown.
Central to this strategy is accelerating our focus on and engagement with industry. We are constantly aligning with, and responding to, the expectations of industry to build unique, long-lasting relationships as the research partner of choice.
This strategy is also underpinned by the transformation and?—?for the first time in our history?—?the unification of our entire physical campus in the heart of Sydney’s CBD. Our billion-dollar investment has created a revitalised, state-of-the-art urban campus that offers our staff, students and industry partners exceptional facilities that foster connection, collaboration and creativity.
I look forward to ensuring this research strategy is the catalyst that continues to build our reputation and position UTS as a global university, as well as a go-to partner delivering practical solutions for industry and society.
